Early Registration due Sept 25th
Registration due Oct 14th

We are excited to welcome as our speakers:

Dr. Andrew Mak and Rozee Hernandez, LCSW

Beyond the Diagnosis: Breast Cancer, Mental Health, and the Whole-Person Approach to Care

A breast cancer diagnosis can impact much more than physical health, affecting emotional well-being, relationships, family dynamics, identity, and quality of life. This presentation will explore the intersection of breast cancer treatment and mental health, addressing challenges throughout diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and beyond. Dr. Andrew Mak, Medical Oncologist/Hematologist, will discuss the medical journey and emotional challenges of treatment, while Rozee Hernandez, LCSW, Oncology Social Worker Certified, will highlight psychosocial support, coping strategies, emotional resilience, and available resources. Together, they will emphasize the importance of whole-person, compassionate care that supports patients and families both medically and emotionally.

Rosalinda Heider, LCSW

Pregnancy & Infant Loss: Pregnancy loss affects up to 1 in 4 women yet it is not talked about nearly enough. We will take a look at pregnancy and infant loss from a very intimate perspective of the mother including the physical, mental and spiritual impacts it can have. Then we will discuss therapeutic ways to help navigate a client through their loss then to work towards healing.

Azelin Roberts, LPC

Clinical Considerations for Domestic Violence: Domestic violence can impact every aspect of a client’s mental health, relationships, and sense of safety. This presentation will explore important clinical considerations when working with survivors, including trauma responses, coercive control, safety, barriers to leaving, and how clinicians can provide support without unintentionally reinforcing shame or victim-blaming.

Rynn Burkett, MA, C-IAYT

Care in the Moment: Practical Somatic & Mindful Practices for Well-Being

Self-care can feel like just another item on an already endless to-do list. What if it could be something different?

This experiential, educational session invites participants to explore self-care through the lens of somatic yoga and mindful creativity. In addition to honoring the ways we already tend to our own well-being, we’ll consider “pocket practices” as a supportive strategy for noticing our needs, working with our capacity, and coming back to intentional choice.
