Our story

The Amarillo Area Association of Mental Health Professionals was founded in the 1980s as the Mental Health Network by several professionals including Fred Hill, Dr. Joyce O’Rear and Sylvia McTeague. Led by executive boards comprised of mental health professionals from diverse backgrounds, the AAAMHP provided networking opportunities, continuing education, and resources to providers throughout the area.

Our mission

We debuted a new name, logo, and updated mission in 2024! Our goal is still to provide our members with quality continuing education, networking opportunities, and resources, while adding opportunities for even more CEUs, networking, and peer consultation and supervision. Stay tuned for more!
